Plain-language summary: RentGPUPower is a marketplace that connects people who have spare GPUs with people who want to rent compute. We hold each payment in escrow and release it to the host only for the time they actually deliver; the rest is refunded automatically. We charge a % commission on the rental total, taken at the end. You are responsible for what you run and what you host. This summary is not a substitute for the full terms below.
Terms of Service
1. What RentGPUPower is
RentGPUPower ("we", "us") operates an online marketplace where GPU owners ("Hosts") list computing capacity and renters ("Renters") pay to use it. We are an intermediary and escrow agent. We do not own the GPUs, do not control the Host machines, and are not a party to the compute work itself.
The RentGPUPower app (the Launcher and the agent it runs), this website and their code are our property. You may use them only to host or rent through RentGPUPower. You may not copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer them, redistribute them, or use them — or anything learned from them — to build or run another service.
One exception: the developer files we publish for you to build with — the SDKs, the command-line tool and the MCP server offered on the API page, and the OpenAPI spec — you may download, use, copy and modify, and include in your own software, to work with RentGPUPower.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration details, keep your password and API keys secret, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be legally able to enter contracts in your jurisdiction. One person or entity per account unless we agree otherwise.
3. Listings & verification
Hosts must list GPUs they actually control and describe them accurately. When a Host's agent connects, we automatically check the reported hardware against the listing; mismatched listings are blocked from renting until corrected. Hosts set their own hourly price; the price for a given rental is locked at the moment of booking.
4. Rentals, payments & fees
- Renters pay the listed hourly rate for the hours they book. Payment is authorized and held in escrow at checkout — it is not released to the Host immediately.
- We charge a commission of % of the rental total, calculated and deducted at settlement (the end of the rental). The remainder, in proportion to delivered uptime, is paid to the Host.
- Unused time comes back to the Renter automatically: what the GPU did not deliver (the Host goes offline or stops serving work), and the time left when the Renter stops a rental early. It is credited to the Renter's RentGPUPower balance — money paid from the balance goes back as it was, and what a card, PayPal or Solana payment paid becomes RentGPUPower credit. A Renter may end a rental early during a sustained outage and recover the unused time. A paid rental that never starts is refunded in full to the card it was paid with (a Solana payment, which cannot be sent back, becomes credit).
- RentGPUPower credit — bought, received as a refund, or given — pays for rentals and cannot be withdrawn as cash. Only money earned by delivering compute — rentals a Host serves, or API work a phone does on the earn page — is paid out.
- The embeddings API is charged per token, only for answers that were checked and delivered, and only from credit you bought or earned — never from free or phone credit. The phones that did the work are paid a share of it as earnings.
- If a payment is disputed or reported as fraud — with your card issuer or with PayPal — or PayPal takes it back, we may pause the account and take back any credit that payment bought and that has not been spent.
- If a card or PayPal payment that paid some of your earnings is disputed or reported as fraud, we may hold withdrawals from your account while it is looked into. Your balance stays yours, and everything else keeps working.
- Payments are processed by third-party processors (card networks via our payment provider, PayPal, and/or the Solana network). We never store full card numbers.
- Prices and fees are shown before you confirm. Taxes, if applicable, are your responsibility.
5. Host obligations
Hosts must keep their agent running to deliver booked time, must not interfere with or surveil Renter workloads beyond what is necessary to operate the machine, and must not misrepresent their hardware. Hosts run Renter commands on their own machines at their own risk. The RentGPUPower app runs them inside a Docker container by default; a Host who switches that off runs them with no container around them.
Phones and browsers that do API work on the earn page must not keep, read or reuse the texts they are sent, and must not return answers they did not compute; answers are checked, and an account that sends wrong ones is paused from this work.
6. Renter obligations
Renters may run only lawful workloads that comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. Renters receive exclusive access to the booked GPU for the rental term via an API key that deactivates when the term ends.
7. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee any particular performance, availability, or fitness for a purpose beyond the escrow/uptime protection described above. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees we earned on the transaction giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for data loss, indirect, or consequential damages. Hosts and Renters deal with each other at their own risk; we are not responsible for the conduct of either party.
8. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or remove accounts, listings, or content that violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or harmful. You may close your account at any time; obligations incurred before closure survive.
9. Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which RentGPUPower is established. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless required otherwise by applicable consumer law.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account data — name, email, hashed password (we use scrypt; we never see your plaintext password).
- Marketplace activity — listings, rentals, jobs you submit, reviews, favorites, ledger entries, and notifications.
- Host telemetry — GPU model, VRAM, driver, and live utilization/temperature/power your agent reports. We expose only the GPU model and live telemetry publicly; hostnames are not shown to other users.
- Payment data — handled by our payment processors. We store only a payment reference (e.g. a Stripe PaymentIntent id, a PayPal payment id or a Solana transaction signature), never full card details. If you ask us to remember a card, Stripe keeps it, and we store only the reference Stripe gives us for your account; removing the card, or deleting your account, deletes it at Stripe.
- Technical data — a session cookie (HttpOnly), IP address for rate-limiting and abuse prevention, and basic request logs.
- “Email me when a GPU is online” — if you ask for it without an account, your email address and language, kept only until we have sent that one email (or you follow the link to forget it); an address never confirmed is deleted after a week.
- Notifications on your devices — if you switch notifications on for a phone or computer, the address its browser gives us to reach it, and the keys that encrypt each message so only that browser can read it. They are deleted when you switch notifications off, sign out on that device, or delete your account.
How we use it
To operate the marketplace, process payments and escrow, verify hardware, compute reputation, prevent fraud and abuse, and contact you about your account and transactions. We do not sell your personal data.
Sharing
With payment processors to take payment and pay out; with the Host whose GPU you rent (they necessarily see the commands you run on their machine — do not put secrets you wouldn't share into job commands); and where required by law.
When you switch notifications on for a device, each alert travels through that browser's own push service (run by Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft), encrypted so that only your browser can read it.
If you use the embeddings API, the texts you send are computed on the phones and browsers of other users who have the earn page open, so they pass through those devices. Do not send personal data or anything confidential. We hold the texts only in memory while they are computed and do not store them.
Retention & security
We keep account and transaction records while your account is active and as needed for legal/financial obligations. Passwords are hashed; API keys and host tokens are random secrets you can rotate. Use the platform over HTTPS in production.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, subject to records we must retain. Contact us using the details below.
Cookies
Our own cookies are only these: an HttpOnly session cookie that keeps you signed in; two short-lived HttpOnly cookies that protect a sign-in while it is in progress (by email link, or with Google or GitHub); a cookie that remembers the language you chose; and, only when you arrive through someone's invite link, a cookie (gr_ref) that remembers whose link it was, so that an account you create is counted to them — it ends when you close your browser. A few display settings, such as the Simple or Pro view, are kept in your browser's own storage; when you are signed in, your language and view are also saved on your account, so emails and your other devices follow them.
On the pages where you pay by card, Stripe, which processes card payments, sets its own cookies to help detect fraud; Stripe's cookie policy explains them. Apart from those, no one else's cookies are used here, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Acceptable Use Policy
When using RentGPUPower — as a Renter or a Host — you must not:
- Run or host anything illegal, or that infringes others' rights (including pirated content or models you aren't licensed to use).
- Launch attacks, scanning, brute-forcing, DDoS, spam, or other malicious network activity from rented or hosted machines.
- Develop or distribute malware, or attempt to break out of, surveil, or tamper with the counterparty's environment.
- Mine cryptocurrency on a Host's machine without that Host's explicit permission, or otherwise use resources you didn't pay for.
- Misrepresent hardware, fake telemetry, withhold delivered service, or attempt to defeat verification, escrow, or the commission.
- Process others' personal data unlawfully, or generate content prohibited by applicable law (e.g. CSAM, which results in immediate termination and reporting).
- Resell or sublicense access in a way that circumvents these terms.
Hosts must deliver the capacity they advertise and keep their agent available for booked time. Renters must stay within the resources and term they paid for. Violations can result in cancelled rentals, withheld payouts for fraud, account termination, and referral to authorities where warranted.
